I use these as a modified focus mitt for mma training,  they allow the trainer to sprawl effectively on the athlete taking a shot after a combo, increasing the training to simulate an actual fight more accurately,  for this purpose they are great, but not for intended use

Useless to be honest, unless your sparring against someone who is way bigger and stronger than you and you just want to be safe, but it really is not necessary.

good material good padding good fit. not needed. in either boxing or mma. i could see its use in such karate like wing chun but it would mostly just get in the way
