I train with this heavy bag at my martial arts studio. It works well but you really need to make sure the base is VERY heavy to hold the whole thing down. If you're a heavy hitter, the whole unit can slide out of place. So either fill the base up well or get someone to hold it while you train.

These are excellent if you train for MMA or Boxing. But if you want to save some money I recommend a regular punching bag. But overall a good product and durable, takes hits.

For Kids

I think of these as more like toys then actual training equipment. They are good I guess if you dont have that much punching power or if your using it for light tapping but I generally hit to generate speed and power and in my opinion its easier to use a heavybag because these have a tendency to slice on surfaces if kicked too hard. But seeing as tho kids dont generate that much power it would be perfect for them.

if you have any power at all, this bag will move all the way across your room when struck. its cheaper to get a heavy bag and hang it from the ceiling with a $20 mounting bracket

This does NOT replace a proper suspended heavy bag, as the product description suggests.
However, it can be applied to skill training. A beginner who is still learning the mechanics of striking techniques would need go trough the movements slowly, and this bag could serve as a striking surface to judge distance properly.
