If you want to protect your family jewels, then you'd want to get one of these. It's a great investment and I cannot remember how many times it's saved me and my potential kin.
I honestly would not grapple without wearing these. Sure, it may budge a bit here and there but to be honest whenever I roll, I actually even forget that I have it on. The shape just feels so natural and does not get in the way whenever I go for the pass on guard and whatnot.
Would definitely recommend it to anyone who's into Brazilian Jiu-jitsu or MMA.
However, I wish I got the black version of the compression shorts but that's just me not really being a fan of anything white on the mat but these were the ones available for me at the time.

I purchased this and was not a huge fan with it to start with. I became even less of a fan when I took a hard knee and it actually snapped inside out and cracked down the middle.
One could use it for grappling effectively, but again you can see some pretty whicked knees come in grappling from guys trying to pass guard as well. I would spend the extra money on one with a bit more strength... lets face it we're protecting the future MMA fighters here..

Only during grappling matches do I need the cup but the shorts work great under my sprawls.

The things with these cups compared to alot of the cheaper ones is that they actually ABSORB some of the impact through the use of the rubber on the outside. and slight flexibility.
Alot more then I can say for my old cracked plastic cup, ouch!

This is much more comfortable than the strapped cup. Cup does its job, there is still agony from low blows as with any cup, but it keeps the damage to important parts minimal. Only thing about the shorts is they can be constricting when first using and may need to take some getting used to.
